The Tokyo Women's Meeting was held in Tokyo on the 25th, hosted by the Communist Party Tokyo Metropolitan Committee and an organizing committee. Upper House member Taku Yamazoe (山添拓) participated and answered questions from a pre-event questionnaire.
Participants raised issues including ministers' political fundraising parties and criticism of the LDP-Ishin administration. Yamazoe (山添拓) cited correcting the slush-fund issue as part of political reform and called for a review of fiscal and tax policies.
The draft partial revision to the party platform includes language promoting gender equality. Yamazoe (山添拓) explained that “the full development of individual freedom” had been positioned as a basic principle of a communist society. He also said that left-wing forces had begun making advances in Europe and the United States.
Upper House member Yoshiko Kira (吉良よし子) and others participated in the second session, and 5 people had announced their intention to join the party by that day.
