With the introduction of the UCARO university admissions portal provided by ODKソリューションズ and its admissions outsourcing services, efforts are under way to centrally manage online the process from application through acceptance announcements and enrolment procedures, creating more time to engage with applicants. As of 2026, 108 schools had adopted the service, and more than half of the approximately 600,000 applicants were using it.
UCARO, provided by ODKソリューションズ, is a system that centrally manages online the process from application through acceptance announcements and enrolment procedures, and adoption is expanding, including at Meisei University. As of August 2026, 108 schools had adopted the service, and more than half of applicants use it each year. Admissions outsourcing services are also provided to support university operations. The number of applicant records processed was approximately 1.22 million, a cumulative total for the fiscal year ended March 2026, exceeding the number of applicants for the Common Test for University Admissions.
Following adoption, universities have moved away from paper application forms and consolidated online applications, reducing application errors and standardising operations. UCARO has streamlined the entire process from application through enrolment procedures, enabling real-time communications such as admissions decisions, notifications and guidance on admissions procedures, while reducing postage and mailing-related workloads.
During operation after implementation, UCARO's payment function enables faster confirmation of payments and timely monitoring of enrolment procedure status, contributing to a shorter period before announcements of additional admissions offers. Communication with applicants has also changed significantly. With guidance and notifications delivered primarily online, the system helps prevent missed confirmations and procedural errors.
Going forward, the company plans to pursue strategic support to improve the accuracy and stability of admissions operations through the introduction of new assessment functions, such as the development of iiscore-U, and stronger support using AI and other technologies, while responding to intensifying competition among universities as the population of 18-year-olds declines.
