Chubu Electric Power Miraiz will revise its preferential nighttime electricity plans and raise rates by 2% from 1 April 2027. The change will affect approximately 40% of low-voltage deregulated plans, with a monthly increase of around ¥411 for a four-person household model.
Chubu Electric Power Miraiz announced that it will raise prices for Smart Life Plan and other plans that retain preferentially low nighttime rates, citing higher nighttime market prices as the background to the revision. The change will affect approximately 1.49 million low-voltage deregulated plans.
Smart Life Plan is popular with households that use relatively little electricity during the day, while the Day-Toku Plan, which offers lower daytime rates, will see a rate cut. Smart Life Plan rates will rise 2%, while rates for the Day-Toku Plan, based on the same household model, will fall 1%. The monthly charge for a four-person household model is expected to increase by approximately ¥411.
