Hmcomm completed PMI for its DX Partner Business and achieved profitability, while renewing its design organization and fully launching the new DESIGN X brand. Going forward, it will expand the business around the integration of AI and design. It has established a structure to expand its customer base and promote cross-selling.
Hmcomm announced the completion of its key PMI initiatives for the DX Partner Business acquired from ファンタラクティブ株式会社 in 2025, and disclosed that the business had become profitable. In conjunction with this, it refreshed the brand of its design-focused organization as Hmcomm DESIGN X and began developing a new business centered on the integration of AI technology and design. Through multiple business acquisitions to date, the company is accelerating the establishment of a structure that covers the process from strategy formulation through implementation. Looking ahead to the next fiscal year, profitability represents an important milestone toward establishing the FDE model.
In Japan's domestic DX market in 2026, the environment is expected to remain one in which UI/UX design that promotes the adoption of AI in operational settings, rather than AI performance itself, determines competitiveness, while agentic UX is becoming standardized. To address this market environment, Hmcomm is pursuing strategic M&A, and positions the completion of PMI as contributing to the establishment of a structure that provides design and engineering as an integrated offering. Against the backdrop of developments at モンスターラボ and PKSHA Technology, the company is strengthening talent utilization and cross-functional organizational collaboration.
Profitability following the completion of the key initiatives was reportedly achieved through the integration of project management for the acquired business and more efficient business operations. The company achieved operating profitability in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026 (January to June 2026). Expanded cross-selling of design proposals and AI solutions to existing customers also contributed. The new brand, “Hmcomm DESIGN X,” adopts “Human Creativity × Generative AI” as its concept and will strengthen prototyping and development support.
Going forward, the company will deepen coordination with its in-house AI products and strengthen the design of dialogue and user interfaces for AI agents using products including the VAAP voice AI platform. It plans to support the adoption and use of AI by expanding experience design aligned with practical operations. The company said it will apply the knowledge gained through PMI to future business acquisitions and M&A, while continuing to expand into engineering.
