An interview with Matsushima Kazuaki (松島一晃), who took office as president of インゼルサラブレッドクラブ in July, discussing the club's current position and future policies ahead of its yearling offering. The club will focus on initiatives to increase its value beyond wins and losses, including pursuing diverse ways for fans to enjoy the sport, building a foundation for providing information, and strengthening cooperation with jockey Yutaka Take (武豊).
Matsushima Kazuaki (松島一晃), who took office as president of インゼルレーシング in July, said that horse racing has dimensions beyond gambling, as a sport and form of entertainment, and expressed his determination to build a club that meets members' needs and communicates the appeal of fractional racehorse ownership to more fans. He said that member satisfaction would be the top priority following his appointment, emphasizing a policy of balancing the acquisition of new members with the continued engagement of existing members.
Citing the size of Japan's horse-racing fan base, Matsushima said he regarded the fractional racehorse ownership market as still being in the development stage. He said that pursuing value beyond winning and losing and continually creating a “fun club” would lead to long-term growth. He also said that improving current satisfaction was essential to expanding membership, indicating that he placed importance on making the club a comfortable place for members.
He also discussed improvements to information distribution, saying the club had built a foundation for providing information equally on all its horses. He outlined plans to expand video coverage and ensure consistency in on-the-ground updates, creating an environment in which members can confidently keep track of their horses' condition. He expressed his intention to provide fans with excitement through both real-world interaction and digital information.
As future goals, he cited diversifying the horses offered for ownership, including the progeny of Do Deuce, and developing high-level racehorses centered on the club's relationship with jockey Yutaka Take (武豊). He also referred to measures to expand the club's family, such as introducing a broodmare-priority system, and said he aimed to operate a club that continued to share value beyond winning and losing with its members.
