Nidec appointed Fujifilm veteran Tomonou Mutsuki (友納睦樹) as the new president of its subsidiary Nidec Instruments. Of the 844 quality misconduct cases recognized across the group, approximately 70% have been confirmed at the company.
Nidec announced that Fujifilm veteran Tomonou Mutsuki (友納睦樹) had been appointed president of its subsidiary Nidec Instruments. The appointment was effective 24 September.
An investigation into quality misconduct across the group, including Nidec Instruments, found that 585 of the 844 cases had occurred at Nidec Instruments, according to disclosures.
The company described the change in president as a start toward restoring trust. Tomonou had served as president of Fujifilm Brazil's corporate headquarters for the Central and South America region and as an executive officer of Fuji Xerox, among other positions, before becoming an adviser to Nidec in September.
The report by the external investigative committee, released earlier this month, has shed light on the reality of quality misconduct across the group.
