Keihin Electric Express Railway built an application on kintone to centralise applications and updates for the business-partner master using no-code tools, integrating everything from application intake and approvals to file generation for SAP S/4HANA integration and progress management. The implementation is expected to reduce workloads by approximately 600 hours annually.
Keikyu Electric Railway developed an application on the no-code development platform kintone to integrate the registration and updating of business-partner master data in its accounting system. The application centralises a series of processes, including entering application details, approvals, data formatting, generating files for SAP integration and progress management.
Since 2022, the company had been progressively introducing SAP S/4HANA as its ERP system. However, sharing the registration and updating of business-partner master data across the group involved extensive manual work, including exchanging Excel files and generating files with macros. This made it difficult to identify omissions, formatting errors and the status of individual requests.
The application was developed on kintone as the front end and designed to integrate with SAP S/4HANA via files rather than APIs. Prototype development proceeded with support from the IT department, and operations commenced in February 2026 after 3 to 4 months of development.
As a result, the company expects to streamline application, approval and file-generation processes, reduce opportunities for visual checks and returned applications, and cut approximately 600 hours of work annually, equivalent to approximately 75% of total work hours. Going forward, it plans to promote initiatives under which employees themselves use kintone as citizen developers, and is considering applications to manage maintenance support for SAP products and business-partner information at the head office.
