Mapple, a subsidiary of Shobunsha Holdings,Inc., has made the in-vehicle application for its cloud-based route guidance service “Route Navigator Plus,” designed for巡回 operations, compatible with Android smartphones, expanding the supported devices beyond the in-vehicle tablets previously required.
Mapple has made Route Navigator Plus, which consists of a management web application for businesses and an in-vehicle application for drivers, compatible with Android smartphones. The service uses a display optimised for a smartphone’s portrait orientation, with the aim of encouraging implementation in vehicles where installing a tablet is difficult.
The management web application enables real-time monitoring of operating conditions and export of driving records. It can provide guidance not only for configured routes but also for routes based on the driving paths of veteran drivers. This is expected to prevent route deviations and missed visits while reducing the burden of training new drivers.
After vehicle information is registered, the system can search for routes that take vehicle dimensions into account. Intended applications include waste collection, scheduled route delivery, vending-machine replenishment, shuttle buses and road inspections. Pricing will consist of management and in-vehicle device licences.
