Green Beverages of Greece has raised its year-end sales target in Japan for green cola from 500,000 to 2 million cases. The report outlines sales performance since the early launch in Japan and the views of the local CEO.
The early launch in Japan began on 12 May at convenience stores in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa, with first-week sales exceeding expectations by approximately 70%.
Nationwide distribution began on 4 August, and cumulative sales surpassed 600,000 cases (14.4 million bottles) as of 6 August.
George Venieris, CEO of the company’s Greece headquarters, described Japan as one of the world’s most sophisticated and competitive markets. He also explained that the brand’s international expansion is being pursued through licensing agreements.
The product’s characteristics include the use of plant-derived stevia, no sugar or preservatives, and zero calories. It also contains caffeine derived from coffee beans and is made without aspartame or phosphoric acid.
He cited the global shift toward health-conscious consumption as a growth driver for international expansion and indicated an aim to expand the market by offering new choices to modern consumers.
