日本ベッド製造, which is approaching its 100th anniversary, has announced a flagship collection. Design supervision was provided by architect Kuma Kengo (隈研吾). The concept combines the beauty of wooden joinery, inspired by “the way forest animals build their nests,” with the creation of a space that embraces the body.
The new Wood Nest bed frame uses wooden joinery as its structural motif and is made primarily from domestic oak. The legs are positioned outside the mattress, making the entire frame appear to float and creating a light, nest-like impression.
The Silky Reine, a top-of-the-line mattress announced at the same time, features a cover made entirely from Sea Island cotton, combined with cashmere and domestic wool filling. Its blind-tufting construction, secured with thread, is designed to bring out the natural softness of the materials.
The collection is scheduled to launch in mid-September 2026. Prices are S¥600,000–K¥800,000 for the Wood Nest and S¥800,000–K¥1,300,000 for the Silky Reine, in both cases excluding tax.
