Harmonyland will host an event that everyone can enjoy, regardless of whether they have a disability. Initiatives will include a discount on day passports through Mirairo ID and efforts to create an environment that is accessible to people with and without disabilities.
Sanrio Entertainment, which operates the Sanrio Character Park Harmonyland, will co-host with Kitsuki City and Hiji Town an event titled “Towards the World's Kindest Place: Building Local Communities Through Friendship,” open to local residents regardless of whether they have a disability. The event is positioned as part of an initiative in which the three local-government and corporate partners work together to promote both regional revitalisation and tourism.
Part 1 will feature the mayor of Kitsuki, the mayor of Hiji and the president of Sanrio Entertainment, who will discuss the Friendship Declaration initiative and future development in the region. The prize draw will offer approximately 100 local products from Kitsuki City and Hiji Town.
Part 2 will feature the “Team Hello SDGs! Because the Earth Is One Planet” SDGs live show, an interactive programme encouraging actions that participants can take in their daily lives to help the global environment. Other activities will include demonstrations of mobility-support robots, para-sports experiences and booths operated by companies and organisations.
At the venue, Mirairo ID users will receive a ¥1,000 discount on day passports from the same-day ticket-window price. Accessibility measures considerate of people with and without disabilities will include a calm-down space, sensory-item rentals, a new page on the official website consolidating accessibility information, and increasing the number of staff with Service Caretaker certification to 11.
