Mitsui-Soko's Korean subsidiary has completed Warehouse 2, which it had been constructing in the Busan New Port Free Trade Zone, and has begun operations. Equipped with temperature-controlled facilities and cleanrooms, the warehouse can also handle the storage and value-added distribution processing of high-value cargo, including medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
Mitsui-Soko Holdings' Korean subsidiary, Mitsui-Soko (Korea), announced that it had completed the Busan New Port Warehouse 2 facility it had been constructing in the Busan New Port Free Trade Zone and had begun operations. By operating it together with Warehouse 1, the company has established a one-stop system capable of meeting diverse logistics needs, including the handling of hazardous materials.
The new warehouse has 5 stories and approximately 30,000 square meters of total floor area. It is equipped with temperature-controlled air-conditioning facilities and cleanrooms, and can also handle the storage and value-added distribution processing of cargo requiring strict quality control, including medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
The address is within the Ungdong Logistics Complex in the Busan New Port Free Trade Zone. By working with Warehouse 1 to provide flexible storage and processing tailored to the type and packaging of goods, the facility is intended to strengthen its hub function. Completion was scheduled for September 2026 and operations for October of the same year, but operations have in fact begun.
The opening of this facility is expected to contribute to the optimization of customers' logistics and cost reductions by taking advantage of the characteristics of the free trade zone, including the storage of cargo under nonresident names and advanced value-added distribution processing.
