YouTube has announced a new feature that uses AI to create multiple personalized video feeds and display them as dedicated tabs on the home screen. The feature is scheduled to begin rolling out in the U.S. from October and will be available on desktop, TV and mobile.
YouTube has announced a new feature that draws on its machine-learning technology developed over many years, allowing users to create multiple custom feeds simply by giving instructions in everyday language. Users can create feeds focused on specific topics, with a dedicated tab for each feed displayed on the home screen.
The feature was announced at “Made on YouTube” on 23 September U.S. time and is scheduled to roll out from October for desktop, TV and mobile. The use of AI tailored to users’ preferences is a prerequisite for creating feeds.
YouTube also plans to expand the capabilities of Ask YouTube, an experimental tool that enhances AI search. The expanded tool will be able to create comparison tables based on videos and external sources, while allowing users to continue asking additional questions on video watch pages. Video source attribution is also expected to be improved.
