Two new books explaining how easy Japanese can be used in workplaces and schools were published simultaneously by 株式会社エルロン in September 2026, against the backdrop of a growing foreign-resident population.
株式会社エルロン announced that it had simultaneously published two new books on easy Japanese in September 2026, one focusing on workplaces serving foreign nationals and the other on school life. Both books use specific cases to show how to tailor wording and communication to the other person, with the aim of improving workplace practices and communication in school life.
The first book, “Learning Easy Japanese Through Cases for Workplaces Serving Foreign Nationals,” explains how to organise the information to be conveyed and how to communicate it briefly and clearly, based on specific cases that could arise at places such as financial institution counters. The publisher is the Institute for Financial Affairs. The second book, “Thinking About Japanese 2: A Book on Becoming Friends with a Transfer Student Who Does Not Understand Japanese by Using Easy Japanese,” introduces, through case studies, ways for children themselves to communicate using easy Japanese, with transfer students who do not understand Japanese in mind.
The representative and directors of エルロン were involved in writing and producing the books, which are positioned as an initiative to apply Japanese-language teachers’ expertise in society. The Japanese government describes Japanese-language education as “a common foundation for living together” and has included a comprehensive Japanese-language education support package in its FY2027 budget request.
