CAGUUU, a furniture venture founded in 2024, announced new products equipped with heating functions and its first company-owned store. It unveiled a lineup of kotatsu and dining tables, along with its proprietary supply and sales model supporting them.
CAGUUU, founded in 2024, held a presentation in Tokyo for the first products in its CAGUUU WARM LIVING heated furniture series. It announced two types of products, kotatsu tables and dining tables, saying that sales of the kotatsu tables would begin on the same day and that dining tables would be shipped sequentially from November.
The new products use four-layer tabletops that include a graphene heating layer. The kotatsu table measures 80 × 80 × 40.5cm and is priced at ¥66,490, while the dining table measures 140 × 80 × 72cm and is priced at ¥98,990. The tabletops are designed to spread warmth around them through their broad heating surface. Temperature settings range from 20 to 60 degrees for the kotatsu tables and from 20 to 45 degrees for the dining tables, both with timer functions.
In an interview after the presentation, CEO Nakamura Yuki (中村勇輝) reiterated the company’s aim of democratising luxury furniture in the Japanese market. The company is said to distinguish itself by directly partnering with factories in China and managing materials, processing and inspection in-house from start to finish, while also using a D2C sales structure that eliminates intermediate distribution.
The first permanent company-owned store, CAGUUU Kokubunji Marui, opened on 9 October. The company plans to display approximately 30 items in a sales area of approximately 116 square metres, offering a purchasing experience based on both online photographs and physical products. It also outlined plans to expand around the Kanto region, targeting 100 stores in Japan over the next 3 years.
