Next-generation Earth observation satellite GRUS-3C captured an image on 20 October as part of verification efforts, and its receipt on the ground was publicly announced. While issues with the high-speed communications systems have been confirmed in 4 satellites, GRUS-3A, 3C and 3D reportedly use the same design and have not shown any issues.
It was announced that next-generation Earth observation satellite GRUS-3C received image data on the ground on 20 October as part of verification efforts. Issues with the high-speed communications systems have been confirmed in GRUS-3B, 3E, 3F and 3G, but GRUS-3A, 3C and 3D are said to use a design in which no such issues have been confirmed. Initial operations for commercial operations will therefore proceed cautiously for each satellite.
Under the operating conditions used this time, the full sequence from image capture by GRUS-3C through receipt of the image data on the ground was verified. Verification will continue using a design that limits excessive temperature increases while reducing power consumption in the power amplifier. Going forward, the company plans to monitor and adjust equipment temperatures and operating conditions, the continuation of image capture and data reception, and image quality.
The company has indicated that verification will proceed according to the status of each satellite, with initial operations advancing toward the goal of starting commercial operations in February 2027.
