東京ソワール will launch black formalwear and bags on 18 September, recreating an archive pattern from Liberty Fabrics dating back approximately 100 years in jacquard fabric produced in Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture. The products will be sold in the formalwear departments of Aeon and Aeon Style stores in Honshu and Shikoku.
東京ソワール will launch black formalwear and bags based on “Jessica,” an archive pattern from approximately 100 years ago among the archive patterns of UK-based Liberty, reproduced in Yonezawa, Yamagata, as the jacquard fabric “Sians Rose.” The names differ between the printed fabric and the jacquard fabric. The launch date is 18 September 2026, and the products will be available at Aeon-affiliated formalwear departments in Honshu and Shikoku.
The designs of Liberty Fabrics have been combined with Yonezawa’s advanced jacquard technology to create contemporary black formalwear. The initiative seeks not only to preserve the culture of the past but also to pass it on as a contemporary product.
The ensemble consists of a long jacket and dress and is available in sizes 9 to 15. The price is ¥100,000 before tax, or ¥110,000 including tax. The bag uses jacquard fabric for the flap and is priced at ¥23,000 before tax, or ¥25,300 including tax.
The product combines Liberty’s UK archives with Japanese regional manufacturing expertise and is positioned as a new form of formalwear linking history with contemporary technology. The launch date and participating stores are as stated in the official release.
