Data Applications and Future Artisan began a collaboration aimed at automatically calculating Scope 3 emissions using EDI integration and promoting Green EDI.
Data Applications (DAL) and Future Artisan announced a collaboration effective 1 October 2026 to link EDI data with environmental data in support of corporate sustainability management. The initiative covers the collection and use of Scope 3 data across the entire supply chain and promotes the Green EDI concept.
Specifically, the companies successfully completed a technical verification linking DAL's ACMS series of data integration platforms with Future Artisan's Kkuon ESG data management platform via a Web API. The companies aim to automatically link environmental information to routine transaction data and automate Scope 3 calculations.
The collaboration presents 3 core values from integrating EDI and environmental data: first, automating Scope 3 calculations using existing EDI data; second, reducing the workload involved in calculations across the entire supply chain; and third, enabling secure implementation and future enhancements.
The companies will next proceed toward commercialization and pursue expanded applications, including support for Scope 4 calculations and corporate value co-creation (Scope V), with the aim of strengthening Japanese companies' global competitiveness while improving their ability to adapt to international regulations. In comments from their representatives, both companies emphasized creating new value through collaboration.
