On 17 September, Shinka announced the results of its investigation into unauthorised access to its company-operated service information site, which it had disclosed on 28 August. The investigation confirmed multiple malicious programs, but found no evidence that data stored on the server had been transmitted externally.
On 24 August, Shinka announced the detection of multiple malicious programs on the Kaikura service information site (kaiwa.cloud) and proceeded with its investigation. At the same time, it temporarily suspended access to multiple sites on related servers, including the site in question, and began measures to identify the cause and prevent a recurrence.
One of the detected malicious programs was found to make it technically possible to obtain information from the server hosting the site. In response, Shinka arranged for an external specialist organisation to conduct a detailed investigation, including log analysis.
On 17 September, the company announced the investigation results and explained that multiple malicious programs had been confirmed. It stated, however, that no evidence was found of data stored on the server being transmitted externally.
Although the possibility of further investigation has been indicated, the company stated that no signs of data leakage had been identified at this time.
