Pre-orders opened alongside the announcement of the new Apple TV 4K, with domestic sales scheduled to begin on 13 November. The price is reported to be ¥49,800.
The new model features the A19 chip, with CPU performance described as up to 50% higher and GPU performance up to 2x higher than the previous generation. It also includes a new AV1 decoder, enabling high-quality streaming at lower bandwidth.
The Siri Remote adds a Find My feature for locating it precisely and a remote sound playback option, making it easier to find the device if it is lost.
The domestic model includes voice control using 3 far-field microphones, but the model sold in Japan is reported not to include or support this feature.
