Nisshinbo Holdings has announced a medium-term plan to shift its business portfolio toward Wireless & Communications/Microdevices as growth drivers. Revenue declined in 2024, but operating profit improved, and the company expects higher revenue and operating profit in 2025.
Looking ahead to 2026, Nisshinbo Holdings has outlined a medium-term management plan that positions its Wireless & Communications/Microdevices business as a core investment area, and has announced a policy of increasing the segment's share of revenue to 80% or more by 2035. The company also highlighted its efforts to create synergies by leveraging the strengths of the Japan Radio Group and the Kokusai Electric Group.
Nisshinbo is also advancing product development in the environment and energy fields, drawing on its technological capabilities and high market shares in niche areas. Its strategy is to strengthen its competitiveness in markets with stringent environmental regulations by developing and moving toward mass production of copper-free friction materials.
In the environment and energy field, the company is stepping up research and development of decarbonisation-related technologies, including separators for fuel cells and carbon-alloy catalysts. These areas are positioned as fields where long-term growth in demand is expected.
The business comprises 7 fields: Wireless & Communications, Microdevices, Brakes, Precision Instruments, Chemicals, Textiles and Real Estate. Although revenue declined year on year in 2024, operating profit increased. For the full fiscal year ending December 2025, the company forecasts higher revenue and operating profit.
