Nikkei published its ranking of listed companies by their April–June 2026 earnings. Kioxia Holdings posted the largest improvement in net income, while automotive-related companies affected by the weaker yen ranked among the leaders.
The ranking covered approximately 1,800 companies with fiscal years ending in March, based on year-on-year changes in net income for April–June 2026. Companies that reported losses were excluded, and the ranking was described as an attempt to capture the overall picture.
Kioxia Holdings ranked first for the improvement in net income, with an increase of ¥820 billion, reports said. Automotive-related companies benefiting from the weaker yen also ranked among the leaders.
The impact of turmoil in the Middle East reportedly varied by company, with most companies posting higher profits while some were potentially affected.
