Mitsubishi Electric has developed a new solution that provides OT security on industrial equipment by leveraging technology from US-based Nozomi Networks. It will be integrated as a Nozomi Arc extension feature, with service launch scheduled during fiscal 2027.
Amid the need to strengthen industrial-equipment security in response to European regulations and the spread of IoT, Mitsubishi Electric announced the development of this solution. Mitsubishi Electric made Nozomi Networks, a US company, a wholly owned subsidiary in January 2026 and will leverage its OT security technology.
The solution will integrate Nozomi Arc’s monitoring features into Mitsubishi Electric controllers and other products, strengthening product security through USB monitoring, malware detection, quarantine and deletion, and software management.
By linking the visualisation of OT/IoT assets with threat detection, it aims to provide a centralised view of the status and communications of individual devices and the overall environment. It is intended to support compliance with laws and standards, including the European CRA, and contribute to stable operation of entire systems.
The first product equipped with the solution is scheduled to be displayed as a reference exhibit at JIMTOF2026, with market launch targeted during fiscal 2027.
Going forward, the company plans to roll out the solution sequentially to OT equipment and expand its provision to industrial-equipment manufacturers, promoting higher security levels and greater visibility in OT environments.
