日本ミシュランタイヤ has announced the new MICHELIN X-ICE SNOW studless winter tire series. Sales will begin on 11 August, with 84 sizes available from 14 to 22 inches. Pricing will be announced separately.
日本ミシュランタイヤ announced the new MICHELIN X-ICE SNOW studless winter tire on 30 June. Designed to improve both ice and snow performance on winter roads and deliver stable performance over an extended period, the tire is intended to maintain its performance not only when initially fitted but also later in its service life. Sales will begin sequentially from 11 August, with a lineup of 84 sizes.
The new series' ice braking performance is 9% better than that of the X-ICE 3+, while its snow braking performance is 4% better than that of the same product. The design is intended to provide both optimal road contact and water evacuation according to road conditions.
The technologies used include the EverWinterGrip compound, along with 1) newly developed EverWinterGrip, 2) a next-generation V-shaped tread pattern, 3) two full-depth sipe technologies, and 4) the use of EverWinterGrip down to the base of the grooves. These features are expected to combine edge effect with water-film removal and sustain durability and grip performance.
The range comprises 84 sizes from 14 to 22 inches, with pricing to be announced separately. Each size is intended to provide high baseline performance suited to road conditions.
