LaKeel revised its full-year ordinary profit forecast to a loss. Consolidated ordinary profit and loss for January-June was a ¥76 million loss, and the full-year outlook changed from a profit to a loss. The company expects to return to profitability in the second half, while also reporting second-quarter results and deteriorating earnings.
On 12 August, LaKeel released its earnings report and announced that consolidated ordinary profit and loss for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026 (January-June) was a ¥76 million loss. The company had recorded a profit in the same period of the previous year.
The full-year earnings forecast was revised downward from the previous forecast of a ¥594 million profit to a ¥10 million loss. The previous fiscal year was profitable.
The factors behind the shift to a loss included deterioration in revenue and profit margins in the second quarter. Consolidated ordinary profit and loss for April-June turned to an ¥83 million loss, while the operating profit margin on revenue deteriorated from 9.3% to -4.2%.
However, the company indicated that it expects consolidated ordinary profit and loss to recover to a ¥66 million profit in the July-December period, the second half of the fiscal year.
