DI CLASSE will launch the new Auro siwawashi lighting product on 7 October 2026. Made from Karasuyama washi, a traditional Japanese craft, the pendant lamp is hand-creased to create an interplay of light and shadow.
DI CLASSE has unveiled the Auro siwawashi Pendant Lamp, made with Karasuyama washi, a traditional craft and official supplier product of the Imperial Household Agency, hand-worked to create creases in the paper. The launch date has now been announced as 7 October 2026, and the product is a pendant lamp of the same name.
The shade is shaped by artisans who hand-crease the paper to highlight its simple texture. When lit, the layers of washi produce soft light and deep shadows. The lamp is designed for self-assembly, allowing users to adjust the creases according to their own preferences.
The product specifications are as follows: product name, Auro siwawashi Pendant Lamp (アウロ シワワシ); price, ¥60,500 including tax (an incandescent bulb is included, while an LED bulb costs an additional ¥3,300); materials, paper (Karasuyama washi), steel and polycarbonate; dimensions, 43.2 cm wide × 43.2 cm deep × 41.0 cm high; overall height, adjustable from a minimum of 58 cm to a maximum of 117 cm; weight, approximately 0.8 kg; and designer, Domei. The lamp is scheduled to become available for purchase through the official website from the launch date.
DI CLASSE develops designs based on its brand philosophy of “drawing thoughts with light,” with an emphasis on the interplay of light and shadow and the spaces in between. Representative Domei Endo (遠藤道明) regards its mission as bringing tranquillity to everyday life through light and shadow that restore the rhythms of nature.
