Gyeongsangbuk-do held investment environment forums in Andong and Yeongju for Japanese companies. Taking advantage of Prime Minister Takaichi’s visit, the province aims to promote the region and expand substantive investment cooperation.
On the 15th and 16th, Gyeongsangbuk-do held investment environment forums in Andong and Yeongju, inviting member companies of the Japanese consulate, JETRO and SJC, as well as Japan-affiliated investment companies in the province.
The forums explained Gyeongsangbuk-do’s industrial structure, investment infrastructure and support programmes for foreign-invested companies. Andong promoted its vaccine and biotech production infrastructure, while Yeongju highlighted regional key industries including lightweight materials, machinery components and defence industries centred on a national industrial complex.
The province aims to use the opportunity to promote the region and lead to substantive investment cooperation. Andong is the hometown of President Lee Jae-myung (李在明), and the president held a summit meeting with Prime Minister Takaichi in May this year.
