During the morning session, Chiyoda and Daisho revised down their full-year earnings forecasts, while Watts raised its operating profit forecast for the current fiscal year. Hard Off reported solid same-store sales in September, Tokyo Ohka Kogyo received new coverage from SBI, and ASAHI EITO reported a narrower cumulative third-quarter loss.
Chiyoda sharply revised down its consolidated operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 from ¥1.40 billion to ¥460 million. The company attributed the revision to shortfalls in customer traffic and average spend per customer in the first half, as well as a decline in gross profit margin caused by discounting to clear inventory.
Daisho revised its full-year consolidated operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending August 2026 from ¥1.27 billion to ¥920 million. The revision reflected same-store sales falling short of the plan, higher cost ratios resulting from soaring raw material prices, and increased fixed-asset disposal costs.
Hard Off reported that September same-store sales increased 8.8% year on year and sales across all stores rose 33.9%. Strong performance by several brands contributed to the results.
Watts expects operating profit for the current fiscal year to reach ¥1.80 billion, up from the previous fiscal year's actual result of ¥1.65 billion, and announced a long-term plan and a share buyback authorization at the same time. The buyback covers up to 515,800 shares and ¥400 million, with purchases to be made through off-auction purchase transactions.
Tokyo Ohka Kogyo received new buy-rated coverage from SBI Securities, which cited the growth potential of materials for front-end and back-end semiconductor processes and set a target price of ¥15,000.
ASAHI EITO HOLDINGS reported a cumulative operating loss of ¥90 million for the nine months of the fiscal year ending November 2026, with a reduction in losses in its housing business contributing to the result.
