Kintetsu Group Holdings outlined a policy to restructure its hotel business and integrate ownership, management and operations. A corporate demerger will be implemented effective 1 January 2027, covering a total of 12 facilities.
Kintetsu Group Holdings will restructure its hotel business. It will transfer the assets and contractual positions of Kintetsu Real Estate, which operates the hotel leasing business, to Kintetsu Miyako Hotels, the hotel operating company, and implement a demerger effective 1 January 2027 to integrate ownership, management and operations.
The facilities covered will total 12, including Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo, The Westin Miyako Kyoto, Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel and Shima Kanko Hotel. The assets, liabilities and contractual positions held by Kintetsu Real Estate will be transferred, the lease arrangements will be terminated and a centralized management structure will be established.
The restructuring is part of an effort to select and concentrate businesses and assets, with the aim of responding agilely to changes in hotel demand. The company plans to make effective use of its held assets and increase their value, while also considering collaboration with external partners to improve asset efficiency.
