Dell announced the thin and lightweight Dell 14S DS14270 notebook for the Japanese market. Featuring an Intel Core Series 3 processor and available in 4 colours, it is designed with an emphasis on portability and price.
Dell Technologies launched the new Dell 14S DS14270 model for the Japanese market on 22 October. The device features an Intel Core Series 3 processor and is positioned as combining long battery life with a thin and lightweight body.
The available colours are Linen, Washed Denim, Dusty Rose and Velvet Green. The display is based on FHD, while only the Linen variant also supports 2.8K. The device comes with 16GB of memory, with an 8GB model scheduled to be added in mid-November. Storage options range from a 256GB to a 1TB PCIe SSD, and wireless connectivity uses WiFi-6E or WiFi-6.
The company identifies thinness, light weight, ease of use and long battery life as Japanese-market needs, and emphasises optimisation for the Japanese market in both design and pricing. Compared with the XPS 13, the model differs in areas including chassis construction and display specifications, and is positioned as a core model focused on value for money.
As a launch campaign, Dell plans to discount all models by ¥45,000 from their tax-inclusive prices from 22 October 2026 through 1 November, and to award Dell Rewards members an additional 5,000 points through 7 December. An event showcasing use cases for local AI applications was also held.
