Adtec Plasma Technology, which develops and manufactures RF power supplies for plasma used in semiconductor and LCD manufacturing, outlined its growth strategy in an IR interview in April 2024. The company plans to accelerate product-line expansion and overseas operations, led by the expansion of production capacity following completion of its second plant in Vietnam.
Adtec Plasma Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 1985, initially starting as a subcontracting business that undertook repairs of control boards for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Founder Fujii (藤井) had strengths in electrical circuit design, and in 1991 produced the company's first durable RF power supply. The company subsequently built a track record by providing the units on a free-loan basis.
The core business is the manufacture and sale of RF power supplies for plasma used in the semiconductor and LCD industries, along with matching units that adjust frequency. This area accounts for approximately 80% of sales. The company has facilities in the US, UK, China, Taiwan and South Korea, while production is conducted mainly at its Vietnamese subsidiary, in addition to design and development at its Fukuyama headquarters.
The growth strategy includes strengthening the production system, with plans to substantially expand production capacity following completion of the second plant in Vietnam. In April 2024, the company also launched Mark5, a new product with faster RF control, introducing to the market a fully digital all-in-one model equipped simultaneously with continuous output, pulse output, arc handling and frequency tuning.
Going forward, the company aims to establish its position in Japan as a starting point and expand its market share globally. Against a backdrop of market expansion, the company indicated that increasing its share by just a few percentage points could lead to sales growth on the scale of ¥10 billion, highlighting its focus on growth in overseas markets.
