At the Miyazaki Student Business Plan Contest hosted by Miyazaki University, 41 participants in 36 teams took on the challenge. The top prize went to Nakajima Reibun (中嶋 麗文) for the Health Corridor proposal.
The 7th Miyazaki Student Business Plan Contest was held on 3 October 2026 (Saturday) at the Medikit Prefectural Arts Centre in Miyazaki City, attracting approximately 150 attendees, including sponsoring companies and judges. This year's contest was held following educational activities, including an online education programme, and teams advancing to the final were selected.
Since its inaugural event in fiscal 2017, the contest has been held annually. From fiscal 2020, its name was changed to the “Miyazaki Student Business Plan Contest” as it expanded to include higher education institutions throughout Miyazaki Prefecture. Including students from Miyazaki University, Miyazaki Municipal University, Miyazaki International University and National Institute of Technology, Miyakonojo College, this marked the 10th event.
The final presentations included plans for securing days off for farmers and a community business centred on a temple and based on a circular model for local resources. The top prize went to “Health Corridor: Health management should not be confined to an app,” proposed by Nakajima Reibun (中嶋 麗文), a second-year student in the Advanced Information Course at the Graduate School of Engineering, Miyazaki University.
Several other students, including students from Miyazaki University, National Institute of Technology, Miyakonojo College and Miyazaki International University, also received awards. With the cooperation of 27 sponsoring companies, 8 judges and 8 supporting organisations, attention focused on future commercialisation and contributions to the local community.
