A case study was presented on the overseas expansion of filters for petrochemical plants, combining Japan's advanced technology with South Korea's rapid manufacturing capabilities, and small and medium-sized businesses in both countries shared ways to strengthen cooperation.
The Korea-Japan Small and Medium Business Economic Forum was held in Seoul, with approximately 100 government and industry representatives and SME representatives from both countries in attendance. The forum was positioned as a venue for sharing successful models of Korea-Japan cooperation, and participants agreed to establish regular shuttle exchanges going forward.
The vice president of Fuji Filter Korea presented a case study on overseas expansion that combined the strengths of Japan and South Korea. Japan was noted for its quality control and proposals for new structures, while South Korea was recognised for its speed, flexibility and ability to reduce costs. The presentation emphasised that relationships and partnerships had created a new future.
Against this backdrop, Fuji Filter Korea was established by Daehung E&TEC and Japan's Fuji Filter Kogyo, with ownership ratios of 51% and 49%, respectively, and has its headquarters and plant in Ulsan. It manufactures filters for petrochemical plants and has built a track record of supplying overseas markets. In its AX business, which aims to introduce AI, the company is working with LG CNS on a support program worth a total of KRW 9 billion.
