JustSystems will launch the smartphone-only app SMILE ZEMI Pocket in December 2026 as part of its SMILE ZEMI high school student course. When users photograph a problem with their smartphone, the Learning Assist AI guides them to a solution with explanations.
JustSystems announced that it will launch the smartphone-only app SMILE ZEMI Pocket for the SMILE ZEMI high school student course in December 2026. Availability will also be extended from December 2026 to 3rd-year students in the middle school student course who are preparing for high school entrance examinations.
The app supports the 7 major subjects of mathematics, English, Japanese, science, geography and history, civics, and information studies. When users photograph a problem with their smartphone, the Learning Assist AI provides step-by-step hints 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and guides them to a solution through dialogue. The company says the app teaches not only the answer but also the underlying approach.
Within the app, gaps in understanding and weaknesses are analyzed based on the dialogue, and review questions tailored to each user are automatically generated. The generated questions accumulate on the review screen, allowing users to try again on units where they previously encountered difficulties.
In April 2027, JustSystems plans to provide a function integrating SMILE ZEMI Pocket with a dedicated tablet. Based on tendencies analyzed from the dialogue, the function will present teaching approaches and practice questions.
