An event offering an Evangelion audio drama for a limited time aboard Central Japan Railway's Tokaido Shinkansen has been announced. Listening requires official registration and boarding a train bound for Osaka, with a limited-edition key chain distributed upon arrival.
JR Central has announced an Evangelion collaboration on the Tokaido Shinkansen, running from 18 October 2026 to 31 January 2027. The audio drama consists primarily of new episodes based on the original story, with Misato and Ritsuko appearing in their respective roles.
To listen, users must register for an account on JR Central's official website, board a Shinkansen bound for Osaka and access the listening tracks using a GPS-linked device. Listening becomes available once the Shinkansen has departed Shin-Yokohama Station and reached a certain speed.
Listeners will be entitled to apply for a limited-edition key chain featuring collaboration artwork upon arrival in Osaka. The collaboration will be held in conjunction with the Evangelion 30th Anniversary Exhibition, which runs in Osaka through 11 January 2027.
The JR Group also plans to put up posters near the Nihombashi Exit at Tokyo Station from 9 December 2026 to 7 January 2027.
