3 products were unveiled at Haga Roadside Station: amazake made with pears and rice from Haga Town, a sauce blended with pear purée, and cider made with juice from Haga Town’s Tochiotome strawberries.
The products were developed jointly by the local agricultural cooperative and farmers. The amazake, made exclusively with pears and rice koji, contains no sugar or flavorings and is intended to allow consumers to enjoy the ingredients’ natural flavors.
The launch is positioned as the first initiative in efforts to reform Haga Roadside Station and establish it as a tourism hub that people choose to visit, as part of reforms carried out in collaboration with private-sector companies and others.
The products are currently sold at Haga Roadside Station, with hometown tax donations and online sales also planned.
