Taiwanese drone maker 仲碩科技 has announced plans to market an air defense system using military drones worldwide. It is emphasizing the safety of products that exclude Chinese-made components, turning the sanctions imposed by China to its advantage.
In an interview with Kyodo News, President Zhicheng Zheng (鄭志誠) said that the importance of drones has been recognized worldwide since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and that the company plans to develop sales channels mainly in Asia, the Middle East and the United States.
The company is developing a small-scale air defense system to protect critical facilities such as government agencies, airports, power plants and financial institutions. It is considering a system that would deploy large numbers of AI-autonomous drones to defend against enemy drone attacks.
仲碩科技 was established in 2001 and has already commercialized lightweight drones with military applications. Prices are expected to fall if mass production advances. The company is also contacting Japanese institutional investors to raise funds and is considering partnerships with Japanese companies and production in Japan.
