Kobe-founded long-established bakery DONQ launched its 14th Favorite Bread Grand Prix at stores nationwide on the 4th, with each store competing to have its own original bread selected as the No. 1 product. DONQ’s Usui Koriyama store, located in Usui Department Store in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, is selling Crunchy Chocolate for ¥302. The event runs through the 23rd.
The grand prix has been held since 2012, with stores nationwide selling breads made with local ingredients or inspired by local symbols. The national No. 1 product will be determined based on sales volume and other criteria, with the results announced at the end of October.
Crunchy Chocolate is a product offered at this store and, like the breads sold at other stores, is available for a limited time. Future official information is available on DONQ’s website.
The event is presented as a bread competition to determine the No. 1 product in Japan. For details and information on participating stores, refer to the official announcements.
