山善 raised its full-year operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to ¥17.9 billion. The revision was attributed to semiconductor- and AI-related demand exceeding expectations.
The upward revision to 山善's earnings forecast disclosed on 21 October raised full-year operating profit from the previous ¥15.0 billion to ¥17.9 billion. The interim-period revision was the second increase since the company went public, against a backdrop of expanding demand in the production-goods sector.
Operating profit for the interim period was raised from ¥7.0 billion to ¥8.9 billion, while July-September operating profit was ¥6.01 billion, a substantial improvement year on year. Earlier shipment timing was also said to have contributed, and the full-year plan was left unchanged on the assumption that the same level would be maintained in the second half.
The share price rose after the disclosure, with the stock trading at a closing price of ¥1,949, below the approximately ¥1,977 level of its 25-day moving average. Attention is expected to focus on the interim results date of 11 November 2022 and subsequent scheduled earnings announcements.
Amid reports of partnerships and expanding demand, upward revisions at Tasuki HD, Strike G and 岡野バルブ製造, among others, were also reported. Further information updates are expected to remain a focus.
