The US White House is reportedly establishing a new task force on artificial intelligence and plans to prepare a report on AI risks and opportunities within 120 days. The report is expected to address the nature of the responsibilities the government should assume.
The task force is to be led by National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton, who is also reportedly to head the “Super Intelligence Force.”
Trump is reportedly set to rename AI “superintelligence,” while Clayton is expected to become, in effect, his chief official responsible for AI.
Ahead of the task force's establishment, a meeting was held at the White House on 29 September with executives from AI-related companies. Attendees reportedly included OpenAI President Greg Brockman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and executives from NVIDIA.
