群馬-based 大栄産業株式会社 has entered into a strategic business partnership with WeLion New Energy Technology and gf.Z株式会社 in Beijing, China, and held a signing ceremony. The companies said the partnership aims to accelerate the development of Japan’s next-generation commercial energy storage market and AI data center businesses by introducing UPS solid-state lithium-ion energy storage systems equipped with AI demand-control technology and high safety standards.
The parties agreed to promote the adoption of solid-state lithium-ion batteries in the Japanese market, joint assembly, the joint manufacturing and sale of Japanese-made solid-state energy storage systems and UPS units, grid-scale energy storage businesses, and AI data center businesses. They have also begun jointly considering the establishment of a cell manufacturing plant in Japan.
The companies outlined plans to offer a product lineup centered on Zero Fire solid-state batteries, handle products equipped with solid-state batteries, and advance and strengthen cooperation on the Heart Shelter project. They also described plans to develop businesses combining environmental considerations with disaster preparedness, including grid-scale energy storage facilities using seismic-isolated mounting platforms and the development of recycling schemes.
Going forward, the companies plan to pursue multiple initiatives, including strengthening cell manufacturing and assembly capabilities in Japan, expanding energy storage systems for AI data centers, promoting regional energy hubs designed for disaster preparedness, and obtaining Ministry of the Environment certification for the recycling business.
