SUGENA will host a free online seminar on 29 October 2026 exploring physical AI as the next pillar of China’s robotics strategy following EVs.
China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, launched in 2026, positions embodied intelligence (physical AI) as a new pillar of economic growth, while mass production and deployment of robots are progressing rapidly. The seminar will examine China’s next move through the links between technology, talent, funding and demand.
Topics scheduled for discussion include why physical AI has become a national strategy now, what China aims to achieve through physical AI, who will provide the funding and who will be the first buyers, whether robots have reached the stage where they can continue to be used in the field, and what Japanese companies should be watching.
The event details are as follows: 29 October 2026, 16:00–17:20, not 14:00–17:20 (80 minutes); online via Zoom Webinar; free of charge; capacity of 100 participants; speaker: Sugahara Isao (須毛原 勲), President and Representative Director of 株式会社SUGENA.
The notice also includes information on a free download of the materials from the third seminar, a programme for an on-site study visit to China’s physical AI sector in November, and a contact for event enquiries.
