GLOVING's first-quarter revenue reached a record ¥3.21 billion. The appointment of a new president, the transition to a holding company structure and plans to expand its AI-related business are under way, and the company announced the start of test operations for AI-Spend Intelligence.
GLOVING announced that Fukuda Hiroki (福田 浩基) became representative director and president on 27 August. The company indicated that it plans to transition to a holding company structure under WAO! Holdings on 1 December, aiming to establish a structure that enhances autonomous management and agility across the group.
For the first quarter of the fiscal year ending May 2027, consolidated revenue was ¥3.21 billion, operating profit was ¥920 million and the operating margin was 28.7%, all record highs on a quarterly basis. Revenue increased 20.8% year on year. Although one-time expenses affected the margin to some extent, the full-year plan was described as generally on track. AI-related revenue is lifting its overall share, and attention focused on the planned start of test operations for AI-Spend Intelligence in November.
AI-Spend Intelligence is being co-developed with clients, with a full-scale rollout expected from the next fiscal year onward. The net increase in partners was 16, and an additional 8 hires have been confirmed for the current fiscal year. Recruitment expenses rose significantly from the same period a year earlier, but are positioned as long-term growth investment. One-time expenses related to the holding company transition were also recorded in the first quarter, but are expected to decline going forward.
The company is also accelerating its overseas expansion and will continue supporting overseas projects by Japanese companies, while looking to expand into ASEAN through Singapore as a hub and eventually into Europe and North America. It is building an M&A pipeline from June 2026 onward, with LOIs submitted to 2 companies and 30 companies under initial review. The company indicated that it aims for annual growth of more than 60%, centered on expanding AI-related revenue and its partner network.
