Otec Carrier Korea has been selected as the preferred negotiating party for the supply of cooling equipment for a 200MW-class AI data centre to be built in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do. If a final contract is concluded, the project could become a large-scale order.
Otec Carrier Korea announced that it had been selected as the preferred negotiating party for the supply of cooling equipment for the Gumi AI Cluster Data Centre Development Project. The project involves supplying cooling equipment for a 200MW-class hyperscale data centre designed to support Nvidia Rubin-based workloads, and the company aims to secure another large-scale project following its previous 48MW-class project.
If a final contract is concluded, Otec Carrier Korea plans to supply 160 Carrier AquaForce 30XFZ high-efficiency air-cooled inverter screw chillers. The supply volume and contract value will be determined through negotiations. The project is based on providing cooling equipment compatible with the IT capacity of a Rubin-based AI data centre.
Otec Carrier Korea is expanding beyond large-capacity equipment into liquid cooling and strengthening integrated solutions incorporating liquid-cooling technology. Recently, its 65LL CDU was registered as Product Qualified on the Nvidia Marketplace, and its ability to supply both air- and liquid-cooling systems has been recognised.
Industry participants point out that contract conversion rates and delivery schedules will become important as the AI data-centre cooling market expands. The Gumi project could accelerate the company's efforts to gain ground in South Korea's AI data-centre market.
