Shibuya Awa Odori 2026 will be held on 3 October 2026, with the event area expanded to a total of 5 performance venues around Shibuya Station, where lively performances will be presented. This year, the event will expand from the Sakuragaoka area to Shibuya Chuo-gai, bringing together Awa Odori groups from the 3 major Awa Odori festivals in Tokushima and groups from the Kanto region.
Shibuya Awa Odori 2026, organized by the Shibuya Awa Odori Executive Committee and the general incorporated association Shibuya Station Front Area Management, has announced its event date. Tokyu Land Corporation and Sansan will participate as special sponsors.
This year, the event area will be substantially expanded from the Sakuragaoka area to Shibuya Chuo-gai, with Awa Odori performances held at 5 venues around Shibuya Station. Venues will include Shibuya Sakura Stage and the area around Shibuya Stream.
In addition to groups from the 3 major Awa Odori festivals in Tokushima, the traditional home of Awa Odori, and the 3 major Awa Odori groups in the Kanto region, groups from the Shibuya area, including Shibuya Sakura Ren, which was formed in Sakuragaoka-cho, will perform. An Awa Odori class for visitors is also scheduled.
