SBI Group and Visa will issue the SBI VISA Crypto Card and SBI VISA Crypto Card Gold, credit cards that earn BTC, ETH or XRP, and will launch a rewards-rate campaign at the same time.
SBI VC Trade, a subsidiary of SBI Holdings, Aplus and Visa announced that they will issue the SBI VISA Crypto Card and SBI VISA Crypto Card Gold, credit cards that automatically convert points into cryptoassets, from 1 May 2026.
The cards earn points based on the amount spent, which are automatically converted once a month into one of BTC, ETH or XRP. The cards will be available in 2 versions, Standard and Gold, and each card can be linked to 1 selected cryptoasset.
To commemorate the launch, a campaign offering rewards rates of up to 10% for Gold and up to 2.5% for Standard will run from 1 May 2026 to 31 May 2026 for applications submitted during that period, and will apply through 5 August.
The annual fee is free for Standard in the first year and ¥1,650 from the second year onward, while Gold is free in the first year and costs ¥6,600 from the second year onward. Included services include coverage for theft and loss, travel insurance and airport lounge access.
BTC, ETH and XRP are among the largest cryptoassets by market capitalisation. Bitcoin is sometimes referred to as digital gold. ETH supports smart contracts, while XRP is described as an asset intended to enable faster, lower-cost international transfers.
