The Aoi District Area Management Council will hold Aoi Machiage 2026 on 31 October, featuring mystery-solving activities and hands-on programmes at 3 venues in the Aoi district, with participants moving between venues in costume.
The Aoi District Area Management Council, based in Nagoya's Aoi district, works to enliven the area and promote safe community development. Aoi Machiage was held in 2024 and 2025, and this year's event will expand collaboration with the local community.
The event is designed for families. Participants can enjoy dressing up and walking around the area, centered on 3 venues including the Menicon office building, while mystery-solving activities will be held at each venue. A variety of hands-on experiences will be offered with the support of local companies, including a tag-patch keyholder workshop by 大塚屋, transparent trading-card production by Amano, and a smartphone photography class.
Each venue will offer programmes for children and adults, including a working vehicles area, shooting gallery and shark fishing at the 矢作建設工業 venue; kids' dance and bon odori at the Mielparque Nagoya venue; and food stalls and other vendors.
The event will be held from 11:00 to 16:00 on 31 October 2026 (Saturday), going ahead in light rain with no postponement. The location is the Aoi district in Naka and Higashi wards, Nagoya. The venues are within walking distance of the nearest stations. The event is hosted by the Aoi District Area Management Council, with support from the Nagoya City Board of Education and Higashi Ward Office, and cooperation from Amano, CBC Television and others. The latest information is available on the official website and Instagram.
