Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha revised its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 upward. The new operating profit forecast is ¥91.0 billion, up 8.1% year on year and approximately 7% higher than the previous forecast.
The upward revision was based on expectations that market conditions in the dry bulk business would remain favorable. The outlook for ordinary profit and net profit has also improved as a result.
The expected outperformance of the previous forecast for cargo demand and market conditions in the container shipping business operated by an equity-method affiliate was also cited as a factor behind the earnings improvement.
