Kewpie announced the nationwide launch of its new product, Kewpie's Tamago Egg Sandwich Filling, and explained the initiatives behind it, including the nutritional value of eggs and the reuse of eggshells. The event introduced the product's development background and the secrets behind its taste, followed by an experience in which participants crushed the product themselves to make sandwiches and sampled variations on the recipes.
Development background
The marketing division established the concept of combining convenience with attention to detail in response to demand for the taste of homemade food without the preparation. The pouch contains peeled boiled eggs and mayonnaise sauce for bread. Users crush the eggs to their preferred size to finish the product, providing a freshly made taste.
Scientific evidence was presented regarding the taste created by crushing the product immediately before eating, including data showing that more aromatic compounds are detected than in the previous product. It was also explained that the texture of the egg whites can be changed by varying the number of times the eggs are crushed. In addition to the prepared recipes, ideas for everyday use, such as an instant tartar sauce, were also suggested.
