Google has announced the reservation opening date for the Pixel 11 series. Reservations will open at 23:00 on the day before, while the Made by Google event will be held at 7 a.m. on the 13th. Attention is also focusing on the rear LED feature, whose name is believed to be “Highlight.”
Google Japan has announced the reservation schedule for the Pixel 11 series. The new-product launch event, “Made by Google,” will be held at 7 a.m. on the 13th, with reservations opening at 23:00 the previous day. Attention is also focusing on a new device feature called “Highlight,” which is mounted on the back of the device.
According to an ITmedia report, Google announced the event through its official X account. The event is scheduled to be livestreamed in English from New York, and Google provided the reservation opening date and event details in multiple posts. The posts included wording showing the silhouette of the Pixel 11 Pro and wording suggesting the possibility of a Pixel Fold.
One point of focus this time is that the rear LED feature is believed to be called “Highlight.” Ars Technica reported that the feature may notify users of incoming calls from specific contacts and interactions with Gemini without requiring them to look at the screen.
According to leaked information, the camera bump on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is said to be smaller than that on the previous Pixel Fold, and the structure may conceal the flash on the right-hand side. Some views suggest that Highlight may also serve as a flash, but its relationship with other notification functions has not been confirmed.
A description that Highlight would glow discreetly for incoming calls from favorite contacts or conversations with Gemini while the device is placed face down recalls the notification LEDs used on earlier Android devices.
